Salandi Major Irrigation Project:
Salandi river is a tributary of Baitarani. The Baitarani originates from
the Gonasika/Guptaganga travels a distance of 360 kilometers to drain into the Bay Of Bengal.
The Salandi Dam or Hadagarh dam is constructed on the tributary of Baitarani i.e Salandi.
This dam will be benefitted to the district of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendujhar.
The Dam is constructed in the district of Keonjhar, Anandpur subdivision near Hadagarh.
The project was started in 1960 and completed in 1983.
A Glimpse of Hadagarh Naturel Beauty:
This place is ideal for picnic spots throughout the year. The Baula hill range lying on the east and
west of Salandi river gives a majestic view of the spot.
The beauty of this dam cannot be elaborated in writing, and pictures. one has to travel the spot to
enjoy its beauty.
Particularly the sunset and sunrise mesmerize a different experience to all viewers. The island type small hilly reason is another beauty point of the Dam.
people usually take their bikes and cars on the Dam road for the Photoshoot. This place is highly recommended from my side for a picnic.
